Privacy Policy

Effective August 15, 2026

The short version

  • We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information—ever.
  • There are no advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
  • We only have your email address if you chose to give it to us.
  • You can ask us to delete anything we hold at any time.

1. Who We Are

Alluba Conservation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation registered in the United States (EIN 41-4144428), dedicated to the long-term protection of ecosystems and animal life. This policy covers this website. If you have any questions, you can contact us at info@alluba.org or by mail at:

Alluba Conservation

2. Information We Collect

We believe in collecting as little information as possible. The information we do collect falls into three categories:

  • Information you give us voluntarily: This includes your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter, and the contents of any email you send us about partnerships, volunteering, employment, or supporting our work. (Note that all contact on this site happens through ordinary email links.)
  • Information collected automatically: Our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit. These include your IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps, and referring page. These logs are used to operate and secure the site, not to build profiles of individuals.
  • Cookies and tracking: This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, social media pixels, or any third-party tracking. We use browser session storage only where it is strictly necessary for the site to function. If we ever add analytics or other cookie-setting tools, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.

3. Third-Party Services We Rely On

We use a few trusted third-party services to help run our foundation and website. Loading a page on this site may reveal your IP address to these providers, and their own privacy policies govern their practices:

  • Mailchimp: Our newsletter provider. If you subscribe, your email address is stored and processed by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., United States) to deliver our emails.
  • Candid (GuideStar): We display the Candid Seal of Transparency, which loads an image directly from Candid's servers when you view our site.
  • Our website hosting provider: They serve the site files and maintain the server logs described above to keep the site secure.
  • LinkedIn: We link to our LinkedIn page. Data is only shared with them if you choose to click through to their platform.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send you updates and newsletters you asked to receive.
  • Respond to your inquiries and messages.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the performance of our website.
  • Keep records required for nonprofit accounting and legal obligations.

5. What We Will Never Do

Our commitment to your privacy is absolute. We will:

  • Never sell, rent, trade, or exchange your personal information with anyone.
  • Never participate in donor list exchanges.
  • Never use your information for advertising purposes or share it with data brokers.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You have control over your information. You can:

  • Unsubscribe: Remove yourself from our newsletter at any time using the link provided at the bottom of every email.
  • Request actions: Email us at info@alluba.org to ask what information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted entirely.

We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days and will honor these requests no matter where you live, whether or not a specific law requires it.

7. Visitors from the European Union, EEA, and United Kingdom

If you are visiting from the EU, EEA, or UK, please note the following under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Legal bases: We process your email address for the newsletter based on your consent. We process server logs based on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site. We process correspondence based on our legitimate interests in responding to you.
  • Your rights: You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Complaints: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • International transfers: The information we collect is stored on servers located in the United States.

8. How Long We Keep Information

We keep your information only as long as necessary. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. General correspondence is kept as long as needed for the relationship and our internal records. Server logs are retained only for a short period by our hosting provider before being automatically deleted.

9. How We Protect Information

We take the security of your information seriously. Our site is served over HTTPS to ensure your connection is encrypted. Access to subscriber information is strictly limited to the people within our organization who need it to perform their work, and we partner exclusively with established, reputable service providers. However, we must honestly acknowledge that no system or internet transmission is perfectly secure.
